Canadian High Commission in India

The Canadian Embassy in New Delhi, the Consulate General and the Consulates are meant to help the Canadian citizens who travel to India or a living here.

The Embassy is able to help the Canadian citizens in the following situation:

  • you have been arrested or detained in India
  • a child (Canadian citizens) has been abducted or a Canadian citizen in missing in India
  • you need to be evacuated in case of natural disasters or civil unrest
  • you need replacement passport (lost or stolen)
  • your belongings were lost or stolen
  • you need emergency funds transfer
  • you fall seriously ill

The Australian mission in India can help provide phone numbers for contacting lawyers and doctors in India but they cannot pay any bills. Those need to be paid by you (or your insurance, if applicable).

After-Hours Emergency Contact

If you are in need of assistance outside office hours, call collect from any city in India to (613) 996-8885 to reach the Emergency Operations Centre.
